Author Biography: Janice Horton writes contemporary romantic fiction with a dash of humour and a sense of adventure. Once her three children had grown up, Janice and her backpacking husband sold their empty nest in Scotland UK along with almost everything they owned and set off to travel the world. Since then they have been travelling full-time and have explored over 50 countries, living out of an apartment, a hut, or wherever they happen to find themselves. They are still travelling and their story has garnered lots of media attention.
Janice works as a writer wherever she is in the world. When not writing bestselling romantic adventure novels, she writes lifestyle and travel features for her website and for award-winning online e-magazines as well as national and international magazines like ‘Prima’ in the UK and ‘Friday’ in Dubai. She has also been involved in BBC Scotland’s Write Here Write Now project and has been interviewed on many podcasts and radio shows including Loose Women‘s Kaye Adams on her prime time BBC Radio Scotland Show.
The third book in The Backpacking Housewife series is published!
Janice Horton signs a three-book deal with HarperCollins
Janice Horton is now writing for One More Chapter – the romance imprint of HarperCollins Publishers UK. Charlotte Ledger, Editorial Director, bought World All Language rights after approaching the author about writing a series of novels loosely based on Janice’s own travel experiences.
Charlotte Ledger, Editorial Director at HarperCollins said: ‘I first met Janice at the Festival of Romance and fell in love with her writing. It’s been a thrill to follow her around the world on social media and see where she ends up next and I really admire her and her husband for taking that brave leap to leave behind the UK in search of adventures abroad. The Backpacking Housewife is full of Janice’s own travel experiences and, coupled with her brilliantly commercial writing, makes for a thoroughly entertaining and inspiring read.’
