Social media is about building relationships
I’m Janice Horton – otherwise known as The Backpacking Housewife. I adore social media. I love writing. I enjoy talking. I’ve always got a story to share. I also like to read and listen and support social activities. I’m active on The Web, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and now Instagram and Pinterest. In the time you read this post – I’ve probably joined a few other social groups – both online and offline. I travel extensively all over the world and I still enthusiastically maintain my online presence. I’ve been a full member of The Romantic Novelist’s Association since 2004 when my first book was published. I personally attend and occasionally speak at conferences and workshops. My social circles and my combined social media reach is entirely organic having been earned over time. My following is growing due to time invested. My followers are my friends and respected associates. They are interested in my posts and I am interested in theirs. It’s important to remember that social media is never about numbers. Social media is about building relationships.
Did you know that I welcome press and blogger inquiries and I’m happy (delighted, actually) to be interviewed online, offline, in print, in person, on the radio, on TV, to chat about my travels or my books? So don’t hesitate to get in touch! Use the Contact Me Form straight through to my email!
I’m also excited and honoured to be interviewed for MYVLF – the fabulous and free new global virtual literary festival venue that’s taking the book world by storm and connecting readers with authors.
